A hotel at the west end of Hood River was robbed early Friday morning. Hood River Police Chief Neal Holste says a man brandishing a gun and what he claimed to be a bomb entered the hotel and demanded money from an employee. Holste says the suspect is described as a white male, about five-feet-11 inches tall with a slender build, wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and pants, dark color shoes, and a dark ski mask with triangle eye holes. The incident occurred about 3 a.m. Friday. Holste added there have been reports of similar robberies taking place at smaller Portland area hotels.
