The cause of an early Tuesday morning fire that result in extensive damage to the Arlington Church of the Nazarene has been determined to be arson.  Gilliam County Sheriff Gary Bettencourt says that is based on the initial fire scene investigation.  The fire just after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday resulted in the church structure built in the 1890's being declared a total loss.  The church building was undergoing repairs after being damaged by fire in July in one of four fires in downtown Arlington in a two month period that were believed to be set intentionally.  Bettencourt says the investigation is still on-going and a reward of up to five-thousand dollars has been offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for the fire.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Gilliam County Sheriff's Office at 541-384-2851.
